    SAC Rd6 Day1

Yukio Kagayama-produced SUZUKI ASIAN CHALLENGE, opened its final round of the inaugural season at Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.

17 riders from 9 countries have been racing this year. The riders had to get used to large tracks at the beginning of the season, but as each round progressed, so did the riders, showing improvement session after session. 16 riders will be racing at the final round, as Adhi Chandra (#99, Indonesia) has been sidelined due to a fracture from a training session.

4 riders-Andreas Gunawan (#43, Indonesia), Takeru Murase (#83, Japan), Patis Chooprathet (#98, Thailand), and Muhammad Zulhilmi (#31 Malaysia) have the possibility of becoming the series champion with two races left.

Two practice sessions took place on day 1, with the title contenders showing speed, placing themselves in the top spots.

Qualifying will take place Saturday, with Race 1 in the afternoon.

    Yukio Kagayama | General Manager
I would first of all like to all the sponsors and everyone involved that we were able to come to this final round. Several riders fell during Practice 1, but no one fell during Practice 2 so that’s an improvement. Most riders improved their lap time from Round 4, so that is also a good thing. There will be Race 1, and I hope every one will have fun, do their best, and finish the race without any regrets nor injuries.”

    Hideyuki Ogata | Rider’s Coach
I ran with the riders today and were able to check them on track. I was able to see how them improved on the FU-150. Although most riders were running good, there were still some riders struggling, but I was able to find their problems. It is now the final round, but I hope I can have them all do a great race tomorrow.”
