  • SUZUKI ASIAN CHALLENGE introduces the new Suzuki FU150. Starts Day of Round 2 at Thailand

    SAC Rd2 2016 Day1

2016 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship brings its Round 2 to Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand. This round also marks a new chapter to SUZUKI ASIAN CHALLENGE, with the introduction of the New SUZUKI FU150 to the series. The fuel-injected, water cooled new FU150 is outfitted with custom parts, including Dunlop Tires, Yoshimura Exhaust System, Mikuni ECU and engine control system, Racing Boy Rear Shock Absorber/Racing Steps/Handle Grips/Front Stabilizer/Chain Guards, SSS Aluminum Blue Sprocket, and RK-M 415 Chains.

The riders had to fight the heat, as well as their rivals, with several riders crashing on day 1. In this condition, #12 Rozaliman Zakaria (Malaysia)’s best time of 2’17.760 in Practice 1 became the fastest lap of the day. #14 Arsyad Rusydi (Singapore) took the lead in Practice 2.

    Yukio Kagayama | General Manager
We have introduced the new Suzuki FU150 to the series, and I thank my staff for their hard work to prepare the machines to this race. SAC is a single-platform race, and we have prepared all bikes to be capable of showing 100% performance.
The changing of the machine during the season would be a good experience for the riders. I expect them to show us an aggressive race.

    Shunji Yatsushiro | Rider Coach
It was the first time to run at Buriram for many of the riders. Practice 2 was held during the peak temperature of the day so fastest lap was not faster than Practice 1, but I am happy to see that many of them improved their times from the morning session, in a worse condition. We have introduced the new Suzuki FU150 in this round, but I am confident that the riders now understand the new machine. There is qualifying and Race 1 tomorrow, so I hope the riders will come well prepared tomorrow.
