Both #41 Noriyuki Haga and #98 Patis Chooprathet made improvement on their lap times and their finish positions, but were not satisfied with their results. Round 3 of the 2016 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) was held in Suzuka Circuit, and Race 2 was held in dry condition on Sunday of the race weekend.

In Race 1, held the day earlier, Haga who started from the 16th grid finished 12th, while Chooprathet who started from the 24th grid finished 21st. In Race 2, both riders started from two positions up, 14th grid for Haga and 22nd grid for Chooprathet. This was due to riders who couldn’t make the race for injuries.

The 17-lap race started at 3:10 p.m., with good start from both riders. Haga positioned himself in the back of the second group, and in the final stages, moved himself up, taking the chequered flag in 8th position. Chooprathet did the same as he took chances in the final laps of the race, and finished 17th.

Round 4 of the 2016 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is scheduled to be held 5-7 August at Sentul International Circuit in Bogor, Indonesia.

    Patis Chooprathet | Rider #98
In the 5 way pack I was in, I followed the rider that seemed to be able to move up. I succeeded in it, and was able to move up my position as well. I made the wrong tire choice, so my lap time was not what I expected, and I needed to control my machine. It was a tiring day for me.

    Noriyuki Haga | Rider #41
The loss of grip on the track due to the rain in the morning did not help me have a good feeling of the bike, and the race became a tough one for me. But I did the best I can do this weekend. The team and I know what needs to be done with the bike, but that was nothing we can do at the track. I will try to develop my bike by running steadily at the next event.

    Yukio Kagayama | Team Manager
Patis ran the race in his best laps of the weekend, and battled his way up. This experience will profit him in the future. He is improving session after session, and hope to support him so that he can keep on improving.

Although he did not have the best bike, I thank Haga for the single-finish, and I am happy that he did. We still have many things we need to do, and the team will do our best to that for the race in Indonesia.
