  • Team KAGAYAMA SUZUKI Asia sets foot on Buddh International Circuit for the first time

    Patis 2016 Rd5 Day1

Round 5 of the 2016 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) opened its Day 1 at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in India. The circuit, just located outside of New Delhi, is the circuit where Formula 1™ was held. A mixture of long straights and tight corners makes this track a challenging one for the riders.

This is the first time ARRC sets foot at BIC, and is the first time for all teams in the Championship. Without any prior data or experience at this track, the riders started out Practice 1 learning the track, and so was it for Team KAGAYAMA’s #41 Noriyuki Haga and #98 Patis Chooprathet.

As the rider’s gradually improved their laptimes each session, both Haga and Patis did the same, with both of them lapping their best in FP3. Haga lapped a 1’57.957 while Patis recorded a 1’58.190.

Qualifying and Race 1 will take place tomorrow.
