SUZUKI ASIAN CHALLENGE introduces the Suzuki GSX-R150 for the 2017 Season
The Suzuki Asian Challenge (SAC), established in 2015, is now entering its third season as one of the category in FIM Asia Road Racing Championship. The underbone-frame, Suzuki Satria F150, was the machine used for SAC in its first two years, and this year, SAC proudly announces that the new Suzuki GSX-R150 will be used for the series.
SAC is produced by Yukio Kagayama, geared to train young Asian riders to one day become a world-class rider. SAC not only trains the riders on-track, but off-track too, so that the riders grow mature not only as a racing rider, but also as a human being.
The new GSX-R150 is the newest addition by Suzuki to the Asian market. It is a sports production, bike, and the riders will be racing on a more sporty bike than the underbones. The GSX-R150 uses a backbone frame. The street version has a size of 2020mm X 700mm X 1,075mm, with an wheelbase of 1300mm. The weight is 131kg. The engine is a 147.3cc bike, with an maximum horsepower of 14.1kW. SAC will be modifying this base machine geared towards rcing.
SAC, in its third year, boasts 16 riders from 9 countries – namely Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and Japan.
The official test, where it will be the debut for the GSX-R150 is being held at Johor Circuit in Malaysia, today and tomorrow. The season opener is also scheduled at Johor Circuit for March 31 to April 2nd, 2017.
