    Naomichi Uramoto to race in Spain full time

    Team KAGAYAMA announced its season plans for 2018 today.

    Team owner and rider, Yukio Kagayama will continue his entry in MFJ All Japan Road Race Championship in the JSB1000 class. He will be riding his SUZUKI GXR-1000 and aim for the top of the podium.

    It will be new challenge for Naomichi Uramoto this season, as he will be racing in RFME Campeonato de España de Velocidad (RFME Spanish Championship) full season this year. He will be racing with Team SUZUKI JEG/KAGAYAMA Racing in Superstock 1000 category. The team is a collaboration between JEG Racing and Team KAGAYAMA. This is a project to develop young riders, by having them race overseas.

    Team KAGAYAMA will be making an entry to the Suzuka 8Hours Endurace Race at Suzuka again this year, for the 6th consecutive year, with Yukio Kagayama as rider. His teammates are yet to be announced, but Kagayama plans to make the choice that will be an exciting one for both the team and the rider. The team plans to make an enviroment for the riders in Japan and abroad to race in both Japan and abroad.

Being 44 years old this year, I will try my best new records as long as I can. I am also happy to announce that we are able to continue our partnership with JEG Racing, and that Uramoto will be racing in Spain for the full season this year. I believe that this will be a big step for him in his career, and that this experience will help him grow into a world class rider.”

    “I am very excited and happy that I will be racing full time in Spain. I would like to that Kagayama-san, and JEG Racing for giving me this opportunity. I aim to be a better rider through this experience, a rider that would be competitive in the world. It will be a learning experience, but I do not plan to compromise due to that, and plan to achieve results from my first race.”
